Terms of use
These terms govern your use of the PLD 2026 Liability Check, operated by José Manuel Volante González (the “operator”). By using the site you accept these terms. Last updated: 12 June 2026.
The service
The site is a free, informational scoping tool. There is no account, no login, no subscription and no fee to use the verdict console or the methodology page. The tool helps economic operators get a first read on their potential exposure under Directive (EU) 2024/2853 (the revised Product Liability Directive). It runs in your browser and does not store your answers.
Not legal advice
The output is informational only. It is not legal advice, does not create a lawyer-client relationship, and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice from qualified counsel on a specific incident or product. The tool stops at scope, liability tier, compensation category, limitation profile and the Art. 10 defect-presumption signal; it does not determine fault under national tort law, quantify damages, or certify compliance.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site to violate any law or the rights of third parties;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or circumvent the security of the site;
- scrape or republish the proprietary content for commercial purposes without permission.
Availability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. The dataset-freshness note on the home page states when the underlying citations were last verified.
Intellectual property
The verdict logic, written text, design and the compilation of citations are owned by the operator or used with permission. The text of Directive (EU) 2024/2853 is an official EU act, cited for information.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the tool’s output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including statutory consumer rights.
